DALHOUSIE’S ‘D’ WINS AFL TITLE, 25-7
Dalhousie’s head coach and defensive co-ordinator, Freddie Diab, must be ecstatic with his Tigers winning the Moosehead Trophy, emblematic of the Atlantic Football League championship! In preseason conversation, he talked of a future dominating defence and a run offence. Both were prevalent on an extremely windy, cool, but not cold night at Wickwire Field in Halifax. THE DALHOUSIE TIGERS FINISH FIRST IN THE AFL
It was grey, overcast, mild and with a little bit of wind - ideal weather for football, as the Black and Gold played their last game of the regular season at Wickwire Field.  Both offences were lack lustre in the first two Qs.  Dal opened the scoring as Liam Masner kicked his first of two FGs.  The first from 24, the second from 18 and he added a punt single making the score, 7-0 with 3 minutes remaining in the half.   Maybe the O was resting on their laurels after the big win in Saint John...

DALHOUSIE WINS 30-28, BUT NO!
It was another exciting classic Dal Tigers versus the UNB Reds football game!  Earlier in the season at Wickwire Field, the Reds came away with a 23-20 OT victory.  Saturday’s game outcome could have decided the AFL final standings and which team would have home-field advantage for the playoffs.  One thing it did decide was the winner of the Alumni Cup.    This cup is given annually to the two biggest universities whose football programs date back to the late 1940s.  The team that accumulates...
