A Closing Note From The Commissioner
As we conclude the 2025 season, and my first season as Commissioner, I would like to give some credit to the incredible individuals that keep our organization running. At the end of the game on Saturday, November 1, 99 players, 22 coaches and a 12+ support staff lined up at center field representing UNB and Dalhousie. Every one of them performed with enormous heart, maximum effort and their best skills within their own roles, both on the road to the Championship, and there on

DALHOUSIE’S ‘D’ WINS AFL TITLE, 25-7
Dalhousie’s head coach and defensive co-ordinator, Freddie Diab, must be ecstatic with his Tigers winning the Moosehead Trophy, emblematic of the Atlantic Football League championship! In preseason conversation, he talked of a future dominating defence and a run offence. Both were prevalent on an extremely windy, cool, but not cold night at Wickwire Field in Halifax. It was old school football, as the Black and Gold executed over 40 run plays very successfully on the turf and

Media Release
The Atlantic Football League 16th Annual Championship game kicks off at 7:00 pm Saturday November 1st at Dalhousie University Wickwire Field in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Dalhousie Tigers will host the University of New Brunswick Reds, with the winner taking home the Moosehead Trophy. The UNB Reds advanced to the AFL Championship after defeating the Holland College Hurricanes in semi-final action on Saturday October 25. Over the regular season, Dalhousie had five wins, one los

THE DALHOUSIE TIGERS FINISH FIRST IN THE AFL
It was grey, overcast, mild and with a little bit of wind - ideal weather for football, as the Black and Gold played their last game of the regular season at Wickwire Field. Both offences were lack lustre in the first two Qs. Dal opened the scoring as Liam Masner kicked his first of two FGs. The first from 24, the second from 18 and he added a punt single making the score, 7-0 with 3 minutes remaining in the half. Maybe the O was resting on their laurels after the big wi

DALHOUSIE WINS 30-28, BUT NO!
It was another exciting classic Dal Tigers versus the UNB Reds football game! Earlier in the season at Wickwire Field, the Reds came away with a 23-20 OT victory. Saturday’s game outcome could have decided the AFL final standings and which team would have home-field advantage for the playoffs. One thing it did decide was the winner of the Alumni Cup. This cup is given annually to the two biggest universities whose football programs date back to the late 1940s. The team

DALHOUSIE DISCIPLINE RETURNS
It was another perfect weather day for football as the Tigers (2-1) ventured to Saint John to play the Falcons (0-3). Would the Black and Gold rebound from their undisciplined overtime loss to the UNB Reds the week before? Minutes into the game, the Falcon fans got excited as their team blocked a Tiger field goal. But from then on it was all downhill for Saint John as the Dal running game was unstoppable in the 64-0 victory. It is time that the starting O line be given mo

DALHOUSIE TIGERS DOWNED IN OT!
What a spectacular day for Dalhousie University’s Homecoming! Brilliant sunshine, warm temperatures and an estimated 2,500 fans, beaming in their Tiger black and gold. The defending Atlantic Football League champs, the 2-0 Dalhousians hosting the UNB Reds, also 2-0. Both of these teams have won five AFL titles. What a rivalry these squads have been involved with over the last decade. To add to the homecoming flavour, AUAA all-star RB and Dalhousie Hall of Fame (2015),

DALHOUSIE’S ‘D’ DENIES HOLLAND, 21 TO 9
The sun was still up as the rematch between the defending AFL champs, the Dalhousie Tigers and the Holland College Hurricanes kicked off. The weekend before the Tigers for the first three quarters had been quite dominant in their 41-9 victory on the island. For this tilt on Wickwire Field both defences dominated for three quarters, in front of an estimated two thousand relatively quiet fans. Among them was a good size contingent from Holland College. It is hard to believ

DIAB’S DALHOUSIE DOMINANT
A little windy but otherwise a great day for the Atlantic Football League on Prince Edward Island. Freddy Diab has taken over the head coaching position for the Dalhousie University Tigers, after being an assistant coach and the defensive coordinator. When asked about the percentage of run/pass in the Tigers offence, he said, “I’d like to run on every play”. Eight of the Tigers first ten plays were run in their 41-18 victory over the Holland College Hurricanes. The game p
