The Atlantic Football League 16th Annual Championship game kicks off at 7:00 pm Saturday November 1st at Dalhousie University Wickwire Field in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Dalhousie Tigers will host the University of New Brunswick Reds, with the winner taking home the Moosehead Trophy.
The UNB Reds advanced to the AFL Championship after defeating the Holland College Hurricanes in semi-final action on Saturday October 25.
Over the regular season, Dalhousie had five wins, one loss earning them home field advantage for the Championship game. UNB finished second with a record of four and two. Holland College split with three wins and three losses while the Saint John Falcons (community based team) were winless in a building year but showed substantial progress and competitiveness.
It has been an exciting football season with thrilling plays by all four teams in all twelve regular season games. Fan turnout, live streaming and social media views have been beyond expectations.
Tickets available at the Wickwire gate: General Admission $10, Students $5 Spectators are recommended to arrive early to secure a parking spot and a good seat. Bring a cushion or blanket for your comfort (concrete stands).
The AFL is a not-for-profit volunteer organization. Our mission is to provide opportunities for athletes who do not attend USport football institutions to compete in high calibre football. Upwards of 29,000 high school football players in Canada exit the game every year, with less than 500 going on to 29 USport teams.
