2025 League Award Winners Announced

The Atlantic Football League is proud to recognize many of the amazing players from across positional groups that play in our league each year. These players bring their A-game to the field play after play, and make waves in the Atlantic football community each year.


The League would also like to extend a thanks to the Head Coaches who came together to nominate and decide on this years' Major Award Winners and All-Stars. Thank you to Freddy Diab (Dalhousie Tigers), Vince Sturgeon (UNB Reds), Aaron MacIsaac (Holland Hurricanes), and Scott McNamee (Saint John Falcons).

Major Awards


2025 League MVP - Ethan Lord #1 (Dalhousie Tigers)

As of 2025, Ethan Lord is a 2x consecutive winner of the League MVP award! Ethan is known for his great hands and agility, consistently making significant catches and extra yards after. This year, he showed his versatility through also returning kicks and punts with substantial yards, evading tackles, and providing excellent blocking for teammates.

2025 Offensive MVP - Jonah Rawlines #17 (UNB Reds)

Over Jonah's 5 years in the AFL, he has consistently performed and delivered as a quarterback, making excellent throws, great play calls, and providing leadership to his team.

2025 Defensive MVP - Jason Xie #55 (Dalhousie Tigers)

Consistently known for his team-oriented outlook and relentless assault on his rivals' O-Line, Jason is the winner of the Defensive MVP award for 2025.

2025 Offensive Line MVP - Enoch Shogbamu #65 (Dalhousie Tigers)

For the 2025 season, Enoch Shogbamu delivered an excellent performance, consistently creating openings for the Tigers' running backs and challenging their opponents' blocking abilities.

2025 Defensive Line MVP - Logan Steeves #90 (Dalhousie Tigers)

Known around the league for his relentless pressure on his rivals' quarterbacks, teams had to regularly game-plan around what Logan would do next!

2025 Rookie of the Year - Jake Rozell #22 (UNB Reds)

In his first year with the AFL, Jake has quickly become known for his speed, agility, and ability to turn on a dime. We can't wait to see what he has in store for the rest of his football career with the AFL!

2025 Special Teams Player of the Year - Liam Masner #19 (Dalhousie Tigers)

One of the most consistent players in the league, Liam consistently makes his kickoffs, punts, field goals and converts, delivering impressive distance on the regular.

2025 Coach of the Year - Freddy Diab (Dalhousie Tigers)

For his performance leading the Tigers to a Championship win in the 2025 AFL season, Head Coach Freddy Diab receives the 2025 Coach of the Year Award.

Each year after the season ends, head coaches from every team get together to nominate and decide on players for the All-Stars. They look throughout the league to find the best representation for every positional group, and the AFL is proud to present this years' recipients with their awards:
